TAC KBP 2012 Track Registration Instructions

1. Read the Policies and Guidelines for Track Participants. Participation in a TAC task signifies that you have read and will abide by the policies and guidelines. All results submitted to TAC are archived on the TAC web site and all evaluations are published in the conference proceedings. Dissemination of TAC work and results other than in the conference proceedings is welcomed, but the conditions of participation specifically preclude any advertising claims based on TAC results.


2. Register for TAC 2012 tasks at: http://tac.nist.gov/2012/KBP/track-app.html


3. Subscribe yourself to the track mailing list (if not already subscribed): tac-kbp@nist.gov. Registering to participate in a track does not automatically add you to the track's mailing list. If you were previously subscribed to the mailing list, you do not have to re-subscribe (track mailing lists are for anyone interested in the track, rather than specifically for TAC participants, and thus carry over from year to year). To subscribe, send a message to listproc@email.nist.gov such that the body consists of the line:
               subscribe tac-kbp <FirstName> <LastName>
   In order for your messages to get posted to the list, you must send them from the email address used when you subscribed to the list. To unsubscribe, send a message from the subscribed email address to listproc@email.nist.gov such that the body consists of the line:
               unsubscribe tac-kbp
   For additional information on how to use mailing lists hosted at NIST, send a message to listproc@email.nist.gov such that the body consists of the line:
               HELP


4. Submit the following form to NIST:
• Agreement Concerning Dissemination of TAC Results

Email the signed agreement form as a pdf attachment to: lori.buckland@nist.gov
Include the following information in the body of the email message:

your name
your organization name
your TAC 2012 team ID
what forms you are submitting
"Requesting access to TAC KBP 2012 data as a registered TAC 2012 team"
If you are not able to email your form as a pdf attachment, please contact lori.buckland@nist.gov for other options for submitting forms.


5. Submit the following form to LDC:
• 2012 Text Analysis Conference (TAC) Knowledge Base Population Evaluation License Agreement

6. After submitting forms, contact LDC's Membership Office at ldc@ldc.upenn.edu to request TAC 2012 KBP corpora. Please also let the LDC know whether you already have any of the following corpora of documents (and which ones):

2. LDC2011T13: Chinese Gigaword Fifth Edition
3. LDC2011T07: English Gigaword Fifth Edition
